All About Beer August 2013

Last month Maria and I had the honor of being featured prominently in an article on full time RVers with the beer travel bug in the September issue of All About Beer magazine. Our good friend and craft beer writer Gerard Walen had pitched the idea to AAB’s editor and somehow convinced him our lifestyle was worthy of mention in a national craft beer publication. It was a fun process and we were excited to share our story with a larger audience.

To extend the coverage of the piece All About Beer’s Jon Page extended us the opportunity to take over their Instagram account and give their followers a glimpse into our lifestyle. The timing worked out perfectly as we were set to do a loop of Northern California’s breweries that we had missed in our previous trips through the Golden State.

Here’s a visual recap of the tour:

NCB is actually three buildings (brewer, tasting room, and the North Coast Store) that take up a whole corner at Main & Pine St.

Ah, back to Pacific for the first time in over a year.

It’s not all brewery visits for us. We like to get out and about as well as we reached the Pacific for the first time in two years.

Apparently Piaci Pub And Pizzeria was the model off which Russian River Brewing was based. Great beer selection here.

Signing off. Be sure to tag your next beer adventure with the #beertravel hashtag to share the experience.

After all was said and done we hit up eight breweries in four days and got a pretty good response for AAB’s audience. As it turns out when the issue was set to come release we couldn’t find a copy anywhere. We were traveling through small towns and unfortunately All About Beer isn’t on your standard grocery store magazine rack. It wasn’t until three weeks after the magazine came out that we found it in a Barnes and Noble in Santa Rosa and might I will humbly say that it was a good read.

It was an great experience and I can’t thank All About Beer and Gerard enough for helping us spread the word about beer travel.
