NoDa Brewing Co.
TRP visited NoDa Brewing Company in May of 2012. NoDa gets it’s name from it’s location on the edge of the NOrth DAvidson arts district in Charlotte, NC. While it is a relatively young brewery (opened in October 2011) it has already made it’s mark on the emerging Charlotte craft beer scene.
I tried several of their flagship beers and thought they were all solid well balanced brews including the NoDaRyeZ’d Double Rye IPA and the Coco Loco Porter. However, NoDA is quickly making a name for themselves with their imaginative beer recipes known as the “NoDable Series”. Every Tuesday they tap a keg of small batch creations such as their “Get The Party Tarted” a NorthCarolinerWeisse that was “infused with Bing cherries and raspberries”. Their NoDajito is a “Mojito inspired Belgian Wit infused with mint leaves and lime zest” that won a right to be served at the Gastonia Grizzlies Triple AAA baseball stadium throughout the season.
Owners and founders Todd and Suzie Ford left their day jobs (commercial airline pilot and accountant respectively) to follow their dream of opening a craft brewery. Head brewer Chad Henderson is young but has proven himself to be capable of creating some unique but well balanced brews. NoDa has already exceeded brewing capacity and when I visited they were in the process of expanding their brewing capabilities.
NoDa fits in perfectly with the young artsy vibe of North Davidson and frequently hosts community activities such as their weekly running club, beer crawls, and during football season they host a tailgating section for Carolina Panthers home games. The brewery doesn’t serve food, but most of the time Tuesday through Saturday different mobile food carts will alternate setting up shop in the parking lot. On Sundays they host BYOM nights where they provide the grill and you bring the meat.
NoDa Brewing Co is a must visit if you find yourself in the Charlotte area.

Thanks so much! You guys rock and I hope to get to see you again soon!
