#beertravel | Seeing the world one beer at a time.
As some of you may know I have been working on project built around beer travel and the community that embraces it. It should be no secret that Maria and I are huge proponents of this niche lifestyle and we love sharing the benefits with other beer lovers and travelers alike.

A key component of the project is the ability of the community to share experiences be it a story or a picture or a video. In the age of social media and social networks access to information is not a problem, but finding the information you want is. Context is king in niche communities and filtering through the junk to find those kindred spirits is crucial to growing the community.

Thus the hashtag (#) has become the de-facto filtering method of our social world. These tags can be easily searched through social media to find exactly what you are looking for. Want to find pictures of cute bulldog puppies just throw the #cutebulldogpuppies tag into an Instagram search and you will get exactly what you are looking for.

So how do craft beer lovers who seek out local beer in new places find each other? With the #beertravel hashtag of course. By adding #beertravel to your Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook post you can help other beer travelers find you and visa versa.

Just see how much fun everyone is having…

So as you travel this holiday season remember to add the #beetravel hashtag to your drinking posts to share with the community. Remember it’s not bragging, it’s sharing!…well maybe a little bit of bragging.

(If you drinking at a brewery throw in the #drinkfromthesource tag because beer from it’s source is as good it gets!)

    Hi Brian and Maria!

Just a note to say that I just found your blog today – didn’t know you existed! How exciting! We too travel and drink beer however since we have a daughter we disguise it a bit. LOL! We are from Canada and travel around the USA for the winter. We seek out craft brew pubs to stop in at along the way….

Friday night we went to the Southern Appalachian Brewery here in Hendersonville where we are housesitting for a bit. Mighty fine, I recommend a stop in when you are through here – I didn’t see it on your map of places to visit. We are headed to the Wicked Weed in Asheville this weekend.

Nice to meet fellow craft beer connoisseurs. We’d like to make it ourselves if we could ever stay still long enough!

We are over at http://www.alifemadesimple.blogspot.com where we document our travels. On our way south we also stopped in at the Public Brewing House in Rolla – a very worthy stop and the Springfield Brewing Co. Also a few in Colorado…..

I’ve started a craft brew page on our blog but I haven’t gotten to it yet – this week – I’ve been trying to update our blog – a slow process.

Derek posts beer stuff on his facebook page As a raven flies – the link is on our blog!

Thanks for the blog and links…..

    Teresa
