TRP visited Blind Lady Ale House in November of 2011. BLAH came highly recommended to us by beer geeks in the San Diego area and did not disappoint. Located in the Normal Heights area of San Diego it has great atmosphere that comes from an open layout, vintage beer bric-a-brac decorating the walls, and a dark wood interior. [...]

TRP visited Austin Beerworks in January 2012 just months after Austin Beerworks first opened for business in 2011. The four founders Michael, Will, Adam and Mike set out to make a beer that Austin could be proud of. I have to say that they have succeeded in this effort as you can see ABW beer [...]

Gainesville is the home of the University of Florida Gators and you will find the brewery on the outskirts of town, located in a small warehouse park. TRP visited Southern Star Brewing in February of 2012. We made our way to Conroe, TX after receiving several recommendations from Austin brewers. Conroe is close enough to Houston that many consider it suburb of the big city. The brewery was started in 2008 by avid frisbee golf enthusiasts Brian Hutchins and Dave Fougeron. Southern Star is probably best known for their Bombshell Blonde Ale, [...]

TRP visited North by Northwest Brewery in Austin, TX in January of 2012. After our encounter with NXNW’s Beerliner we had to check out the actual brewery that was making the delicious liquid we were sampling the night before. TRP first visited NOLA Brewery in February 2012. NOLA Brewing was founded in 2008 by Kirk Coco & Peter Caddoo (former Dixie Brewing brewmaster) with a goal of bringing a once proud brewing tradition back to New Orleans. They have four flagship beers, NOLA Blonde, NOLA Brown Ale, Hopitoulas, their IPA, and 7th Street Wheat, [...]

TRP post courtesy of our East Coast Affiliate, Nick: So I finally made it to the Brooklyn Brewery. I’ve been going to New York City once or twice a year for the last few years, and I have even stayed in Brooklyn a few times. But my weekends there are always jam packed. It’s hard [...]

TRP first visited Independence Brewery in February 2012. We actually had very lucky timing, the night before a friend from Lawrence put us in touch with a local friend who let us know that they are only open the first Saturday of the month, which just happened to be the following day… score! Sometimes beer [...]

TRP post courtesy of our East Coast Affiliate, Nick: Yards Brewery is located close to the Delaware River slightly Northeast of Center City Philadelphia. However, if history is a predictor of things to come, they may not be there all that long. Consistently increasing demand has forced them to re-locate three times, so they have [...]

TRP post courtesy of our East Coast Affiliate, Nick: I first visited Cape May Brewing Company in September of 2011. It is located in an industrial park near the Cape May Airport and it’s run by two friends and one of their dads. The two of them had been homebrewing for a while, but their [...]

This is the TRP’s favorite brewery ever, hands down. Yes, we have a local bias, but after visiting 100s of beer destinations I can honestly sit here and tell you that this brewery is making some of the best beers in the industry across the board. Free State brewery was started in 1989 as the [...]
